HY-28, HEC-RAS, Version 3.1.2

River Analysis System

This version of HEC-RAS is a bug fix version for version 3.1.1., which was released in June 2004. The bugs that have been found and fixed can be viewed in the release notes for this version at www.hec.usace.army.mil.

The documentation is available in PDF format (Version 3.1 documentation is still applicable for Version 3.1.2).To read and or print these files you will need the Acrobat PDF Reader version 5.0 or newer. The HEC-RAS software has been modified to allow the documents to be viewed from the Help menu of the main program. In order for this to work correctly the documents must be loaded into their default directory locations, which are subdirectories of the HEC-RAS software directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\HEC\RAS\Users Manual).

To obtain the new version of the HEC-RAS, and documentation from the HEC web site, go to www.hec.usace.army.mil. A single downloadable version 3.1.2 is also available from HEC-RAS download page. No CD's will be available for this release.

Highway Capacity Software

This release of HCS2000 is primarily to respond to an issue with the permitted left-turn worksheet selection process in signals. The update will ensure the correct permitted left-turn worksheet is selected in all lane configuration cases and identify whether the HCS2000 Supplemental Worksheet for permitted left-turns opposed by a single- or multilane- approach as "S" or "M" in the Text Report for each approach. In addition:

• This update also corrects the calculation of minimum pedestrian green time (Signals) in some Metric files.
• There are two (Ramps Merge, Unsignalized AWSC) Formatted Report updates to correct some reporting and cosmetic issues.
• A unit file modification (Two-lane) expands the data entry range for passing lane length and adjusts the range for directional split.

A major new version of this software (HCS+) is going to be available very soon
