TE-36X, TP-18X, TEAPAC2004, Version 6

Traffic Engineering Analysis package with TEAPAC2004 Seamless Integration

After 2 years in development, TEAPAC2004 (Version 6) has been released by Strong Concepts with a major enhancement to the generic user interface used by all TEAPAC programs, as well as major developments to individual programs. The most apparent change is the new completely seamless, one-click, one-file exchange of all input and results between all programs, including network connections, intersection geometry and conditions, and traffic volumes; as well as calculations of HCM saturation flows, optimized timings, peak-period turn counts and estimated site traffic. Other enhancements include new volume adjustment inputs to allow factoring volumes and adding additional volumes on a movement-by-movement basis, new sensitivity controls for global testing of factored volumes, additive volumes, factored saturation flows, minimums, clearances, etc., as well as the complete implementation of the enhanced TEAPAC2004 (Ver. 6) user interface. The TEAPAC programs updated with the TEAPAC2004 interface include SIGNAL2000 (TE-36J), NOSTOP (TE-36B), PRENOSTOP (TE-36M), PRETSPPD (TE-36L), PREPASSR (TE-36C), PRETRANSYT (TE-36D), PRENETSIM (TE-36G), PRESYNCHRO (TE-36K), SITE (TP-18A), WARRANTS (TE-36F), TURNS (TE-36E), TED (TE-36V & TP-18V) and TUTOR (TE-36T & TP-18T). Additional major enhancements have been made to SITE, WARRANTS and TURNS, as described in separate articles.

TEAPAC2004 is available as a new license from PC-Trans and Strong Concepts in several options -- the TEAPAC Traffic Engineering Package (TE-36X1 & TP-18X1), the TEAPAC Signal Timing Analysis Package (TE-36X2) and the TEAPAC Site Impact Analysis Package (#TE-18X2).Individual programs are also available and special update and upgrade pricing is available directly from Strong Concepts for prior licenses (educational and multi-site discounts may apply). Functional demos are available to download free at the PC-Trans and Strong Concepts web sites. See the complete program descriptions for more details at the PC-Trans online catalog. All TEAPAC licenses are always site licenses.

TP-18A, SITE/TEAPAC, Version 4.60

Site Traffic Calculations with TEAPAC2004 Seamless Integration

After 2 years in development, the TEAPAC2004 version of SITE/TEAPAC (#TE-18A) has been released by Strong Concepts as Ver. 4.60. This major upgrade uses the standard TEAPAC2004 input dialogs, or data files from other integrated TEAPAC programs, and calculates projected traffic volumes which result from the defined development scenario. Multi-use and multi-site scenarios are handled easily, and new volume adjustment inputs allow factoring volumes on a movement-by-movement basis. Also, new sensitivity controls for global testing of factored volumes have been added.

The data files for SITE have also been updated to be completely compatible with SIGNAL2000/TEAPAC (TE-36J) so complete multi-intersection systems with up to 500 intersections can be seamlessly integrated with SIGNAL2000 analyses, allowing complete HCM-based capacity analysis and timing optimization to be performed in conjunction with the SITE projected volumes. This data file compatibility extends to all other TEAPAC2004 programs for one-click sharing of complete data files between each of the 13 TEAPAC programs, permitting unparalleled flexibility in how these programs can be used to exploit the strengths of each program. For example, SITE can share its data files with TURNS to get peak-period traffic volumes from counts and with WARRANTS for MUTCD2000/2003 warrant analyses of these counts, or with PREPASSR and PRETRANSYT for network performance assessment of the projected volumes. VISSIM also reads SITE data files directly for robust system simulation and animation of projected conditions.

As part of this upgrade, SITE has been updated with a major enhancement for managing the list of nodes in the complete system being studied, and intersection selection has been enhanced with a new drop-down-list selection option. The complete network can also be visualized in a graphical network view diagram which can be enhanced with the addition of a bitmap background. A major enhancement to the output window for display of results and data input summaries now permits a virtually unlimited amount of output to be displayed, with many enhancements such as a sizeable, moveable, append able window, toolbar buttons, etc.

SITE is available as a new license from PC-Trans and Strong Concepts. Level 1 (TP-18A1) handles up to 12 intersections and costs $395 for a site license. Level 2 (TP-18A2) handles up to 100 intersections and offers a Subsystem feature for $495. Larger sizes are available. Special upgrade pricing is available directly from Strong Concepts for prior licenses. Educational and multi-site discounts are available. Functional demos are available to download free at the PC-Trans and Strong Concepts web sites. See the complete program description for more details at the PC-Trans online catalog. SITE is also available as part of the TEAPAC Site Impact Analysis Package (#TP18X2).
